DJIMstocks.com still blooming in April....big gains in CMI TRCR PAE AVNR
The streak of big gainers initiated by DJIMstocks.com has continued into the final days of April. Potential 15%, 30% 40%, 60%+ moves were just enjoyed in the last 2 weeks and are listed below.
These plays are up to the minute "leads' to members available on our site or via email delivery. These are stocks we are closely watching for a trade, a heads up of sorts or ones we have just bought. We only send out 1-3 Alerts-Comments a day, some days this includes some of our plays for a next day move. We do not send endless picks, news bits on stocks with the hope you might hit on one and then put up those winners in public. We say what we buy real time , simply we tell you what is on our trading plate and provide the DJIMstocks.com trade methodology on these plays in the evening. Simple and concise.
Despite the recent worry of many that the market was showing signs of trouble because the mid-small caps were not participating, we stuck to our guns!. "As far as we are concerned, if you come to the party led by the big caps...you need to bring a 'wingman' or two. Our wingman is our smaller caps. Simply, if the large caps continue on with earnings and keep going higher...the small cap wingman will have to come out and help out.. so all can play. One can't work without the other!". This week we got the mid-small caps joining the party as expected at DJIMstocks.com!.
First half of April was highlighted by some big gainers JSDA, TSL, UXG and more.
See these plays alerted to our readers. http://www.djimstocks.com/journal/2007/4/14/djimstockscom-alerts-blooming-in-april.html .
Well, it's not only about getting the ' move' at DJIM, it is about getting out safely with your profits in tow. We capitalized on those plays and alerted our leaving those momentum plays near the TOP. The pullback has occurred and today JSDA sits 30% from our exit. Here at DJIM, we just go to the next play and recycle the names when we feel we they are ready for another move..UP!
``Despite the emotional feeling that these momentum runners TSL JSDA JASO can pull another 15% run tomorrow, we feel the odds favours a pullback here.....``Apr 16, 2007 at 03:34PM
Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 02:56PM- DJIM Journal Week 16
PAE, came out with earning late Friday. It reported .06 vs. (-0.04) +250% EPS change,95 RS, following a break even Q with revenue over20mln+11m in the previous Q. It closed at $1.65 and has market cap in the 50's mln. Even if you take out a 1 mln legal gift, they still made over a 1.2 mln in net and are now profitable. Usually a stock turning the corner on profitability gets some attention sooner than later. It actually got into IBD's top earning announcements column and might get a look Monday or simply crawl slowly upwards from here. It can be a complete bore or its numbers and float and price will get some cash into. We'll watch early, you never know...

TRCR- Transcend Services Inc, was first a DJIM alert in January. Last week we were alerting again at $11.40`s as a buy in.
TRCR hit a high of $14.60`s Friday. Nearly 30% in 4 trading days.
At DJIMstocks.com, we are there in the pre market with a play like CMI and after hours with a recent buy in at TRCR
Apr 23, 2007 at 04:27PM

DJIMstocks.com Alerts blooming in April..
What are DJIM Alerts-Comments?. They are up to the minute "leads' to members available on our site or via email delivery. These are stocks we are closely watching for a trade, a heads up of sorts and ones we have just bought. This section is mostly for the trader during market hours and those who are familiar with the DJIM trading methodology and the stocks from our nightly Journal. We only send out 'only' 1-3 Alerts-Comments a day, which some days includes some of our plays for a next day move. In the evening, we follow up in our nightly Journal blog on most of the activity that day in regards to our buys/ play listed stocks.
Here are a few examples of the DJIM Alerts-Comments feed in the first two weeks of April.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
UXG, rallied Friday to a high of $6.79 before closing up 16.2%
UXG was a DJIMstocks buy alert a few days before in premarket at $5.60's." UXG, a gold stock w/ results yesterday. Not a one day story we think, will look to buy dips here and there..bot some premkt 5.60's.for a first try" Apr 11, 2007 at 09:27AM
The night before the BIG move, we noted UXG in our nightly Journal blog. ".....quickly climbed to over $6 at the open and a a quick 6-7% for the flippers here. Well, we actually did some of that and as we said we will look to buy the dips, which we did later again. Having some gold rather than the Nasdaq stuff seemed like a better idea later in the day. We are traders and if we get 6-7% in the first 10minutes, we will take it. It finds itself there over $6 in AH's today and we think it goes higher..."

MFW, a DJIM stock buy in and closely followed stock since $26-28 area. An Alert was issued on Apr 5, 2007 at 09:41AM...
"MFW, Harland deal news last night seems to be liked". This lead was issued with 4300 shares in the books with the price around $52. The stock spiked to $61 high that day with volume of 1.8mln and biggest play of the day as strong momentum came to this closely followed stock by DJIM readers. A possible 8-9 pts in one day or 15%+
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
DNDN, we were prepared the night of DNDN news to play it the next day!.".....we'll most likely take a position with some funny money as in a $2 ticket at the races. Its all about being at the show, like the Kentucky Derby and not about winning. This is the fun of trading, you could really make some money but you must be prepared for every other possibility. This won't be a one day trade, so once in it's probably better to stick through the jumpy action. "
The next morning we were there from the start, Mar 30, 2007 at 07:24AM , issuing an alert as it traded in the $16's saying it will probably hit the $19 high. Well...it did for those wanting a quick trip. For those buying the jumpy action and buying the idea of this being not a one day trade and holding through has paid big time as DNDN has traded over $25.
Probably surprised a few getting up with halt released so early ..so the chasers will most likely be in bloom come 8am or so "
WBD, a DJIM followed buy since September came back to our books recently in our weekend update March 28 and then alerted again the 29th.-
Mar 29, 2007 at 03:49PM-ALERT, WBD, mentioned this weekend in DJIM list. Earnings are very good and no usual sell off has happened. Looking for confirmation, might come soon over $79 to take a piece.
In 3 trading days, WBD shot up to $86+ . Another 6 point potential play in a few days!

Happy Trading!
DJIMstocks.com - specializing in small caps, momentum/ IBD/ EPS stocks- Corrective activity in the markets
Over the past 7 months or so, DJIMstocks.com has been relentless in buying and discovering new momentum stocks without taking a negative stance on the market more than maybe once for a 24hr period. Well..that all changed this week starting Monday and then Tuesday before the open. DJIM Alerts are for stocks and we have had a big crop of winners in '06 and so far in '07, yet this is the first time in months we issued a MARKET alert headline, not once but twice. In DJIM land this was not just an overnight anomaly, we have been cutting positions left right and center the previous week into a strong market and kept away from any serious buying as the market felt exhausted and could not push higher. Below are some excerpts from DJIMstocks.com, starting with selling into the previous weeks strength shown in DJIM stocks and cutting anything lagging before the corrective activity. What follows is our methodology during the week that kept us and our readers from any further risk or loss as the market indexes finished the week at its lows.
Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 08:35PM - NIGHTLY JOURNAL-....... we do maintain a very cautious attitude and refrain ourselves from tip toeing back into the this market other than maybe a quick trade here or there. Frankly, it's very easy to go back in and start buying and it's just as easy to start losing. The question is... do we see any opportunities to buy right now given a lot of the "opportunities are abound talk by many of the gurus out there"? One thing we need to have is trading opportunities WE are most comfortable with and are familiar with. We just haven't seen it yet!.... Opportunities will come sooner or later and when it comes, your capital better be there to make it good. Regardless how big your portfolio size is, we just don't believe in buying anything now for better days ahead. We just don't know how much worse this correction can get and we are definitely not putting our own money in to find out an individual stock we loved a week ago has another 10 or 5% downside left ......Also, when the markets do bounce back meaningfully and resumes its uptrend, how do we ensure that the stocks we buy today are even going to participate in the rally? At this point, we don't know and we can only wait and see. Strong EPS plays are only good when the market is in a favourable condition and there is money chasing them.......If there is no momentum shown, what use is it hold and risk downside at this point or just sit in a flat stock. Perhaps by next week, we may all be in a buying and holding overnight mood but just not today and probably not tomorrow, a Friday...... We are simply looking forward to the weekend.
Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 08:49PM - NIGHTLY JOURNAL- AFTERMATH- ... Bounces are nothing more than bounces and we are certainly seeing some bounces today. Today had to happen, if it didn't we'd be in BIG trouble if the market didn't bounce after such a exaggerated move to the downside. It doesn't mean, however, that we are right back into a frenzy buying mode and in fact we should be the opposite and be distrustful of any upside movement......Do remember, the fear mongers will try their best to exploit the anxiety most will feel after yesterday...so expect volatility. Chances are those that didn't bail fast enough yesterday, will be the first out next time if any sign of further downside correction activity is felt".
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 08:24PM - NIGHTLY JOURNAL- What's safe out there? Cash! What's not safe out there? Everything Else!.........Don't be fooled by all of the recent strong eps plays. In this sort of market, nothing is really safe. Human emotion always works in an unpredictable way and it is in our opinion best not to predict, but to react. Market was down big time today and that's the way it is. At this point, there's no point even thinking about playing a bounce because you are more than likely being setup to be "sold into" by others. ...............For now, we hide in our bunker to watch the fireworks. Bottom line, protect the capital and don't be a hero!...Nobody imagined a 1 day scenario like this, but the prospect of a big move up or down has been repeated here over and over again. Yesterdays market alert...all the recent Journals in cutting them laggards, dwindling positions..little buying were enough of a hint on where we stood.... Clearly, we are starting with a clean slate until the dust settles. In a lot of respects it might be a good thing as there have been so many plays materialize over the past 6 months. Hopefully, we recently prepared you to some extent for an unfortunate day like today. Nobody saw a bit of history coming in such a large one day swoop....At this point, we do not have any need to play reversals, bounces etc. We have capitalized on these stocks when it mattered and have no need to gamble now. We have made our money on them and will look to explore new stocks.
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 09:23AM- MARKET Alert- Women and children first.....and then your book of stocks....unfortunately, it will be the other way around today. The year of the Pig has had it's speculative bubble on its butt popped even if this was already talked about a month ago. If you've followed the tone of the DJIM journal, your book of stocks should be quite light and minimal damage will be sustained today. The morning will be the exhaustion day we feared in this weekends DJIM #9 as the selling hits hard....
Monday, February 26, 2007 at 12:55PM -MARKET Alert- We always get an automatic cautionary flag up when Naz is down 20 or so. We are not chasing anything now and are reducing some exposure in laggards...
Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 12:11AM- DJIM #9. Weekend Journal updates for week ahead. "What was a 4 day shortened week felt anything but as trading seemed to have come to a stall by weeks close. The week definitely got started on a bang but by weeks end the buyers seemed exhausted and/or just not interested. So what do you do?. Well, if you can't buy anything with potential it gives you time to evaluate your holds and maybe sell some into the 'Green'. It is not the time to get nutty and turn away from what has been working by chasing something just to make a trade. It is always better to draw down you positions into the green then having to hastily sell if this lacklustre tone continues and we really have an exhaustion day when the selling hits hard. What the week provided was for some orderly profit taking by looking at performance of some DJIM's closely followed in the past 5 trading days"......28% 13% 12.1 8.7 7.3 6.5 5.9 4.0 4.2 3.4 3.1%..and ???? at its highs was up 15% since alert buy in. "The problem is the techs just don't want to lead this NASD to higher ground."....."One look at the DJIA explains how we felt the last few days and that is no enthusiasm to buy. We only did 2-3 buys late in the week and the chart clearly shows the buyers were not there. We did clear the psych level of 2500 on the NASD, but it is clear we need participation the bellweathers to kick this higher......"

SYNL Synalloy Corporation / EML Eastern Company
Looking to find the next gem to put under your pillow?. SYNL was first on DJIM at the open at $16 last Q, now it is trading at $26.40 with IBD #'s of 99 97 and more than 60% higher than that day in October. In October, we also profiled another undiscovered stock by the name of EML at around $18. This Q it reported breakout earnings and has traded to almost $28. Up over 50% since DJIM first covered the company. These are a few examples of companies we like to call undiscovered crawlers, but this is just one facet of DJIM trading/investing which includes almost daily alerts on the days next possible fast mover. Also because we follow these companies closely, it allowed DJIM readers to be right there in the early action on the most recent earnings releases. For a complete list of winners from the 2nd half of 2006, visit our preview section in the navigation bar. Scroll down to see some of the catches of 2007!.
Monday, October 23, 2006 at 09:30AM- SYNL, Excellent Q from this very thin traded, low float stock (5mln). Anything to do with pipes and chemicals we usually like...As usual we don't chase and end up holding the top, watch reaction..volume etc for a possible entry as we always say. .39 vs. 09EPS for Q (2.4mln vs.525k Net.one time small gain in there it seems...still this look good with eps in the .30's., backlog sweet
Monday, October 2, 2006 at 12:50PM- EML was developing a latch for Humvees in '05, last week was the pay off as they received a first order and then a second from Armor Holdings (AH) to retrofit humvees. The 2 contracts worth "31 mln" will be split between the next 2 Q's (sales to hit between SEPT-MAR).. Eastern makes about 100mln in Revenue a year....hmmm nice bump coming as soon as next report. The stock is extremely thin but moved nicely late last week due to a 3/2 split announced. The real news is the contracts that were not released in a official PR but sit quietly in the sec. filings. The chart is nice, the split works and the potential for thousands of more HV's to be retro-fitted and therefore revenues climbing. Added to DJIM holds....wanted to intro this on a dip but now not sure that will come soon enough.
DJIM stocks rockin' in January!
What have you done in the past 10 trading days?. Well, we've been busy producing stocks with very nice gains in a very turbulent market for our subscribers. Here are a few examples but definitely not all the recent plays captured. The plays below are still in play at DJIM and are for our subscribers only, so we'll only call them "A B C D"!.
January 23, 2007..DJIM JOURNAL..Since the MLK holiday, we have seen the NDX go from 1847 to a touch of 1771 today. Despite this treacherous ride, the heavily followed DJIM stocks have shown not only resiliency but power to go forward. This divergence with the market only escalated today with 7 DJIM names hitting a new closing high and some even had higher highs intraday..They include................"
STOCK "A", a core holding for DJIM has produced a 19% move since being alerted to subscribers in the past 10 trading days!..... ....DJIM JOURNAL...."we made it very clear on day one that we really like its ...Last night, we noted the line up might form in 9 ema area, today it did with a nice volume stick". A SECONDARY LEG ALERT GIVES READERS ANOTHER CHANCE FOR an easy 10%+ move..a 2nd time on this stock in less than 2 weeks!
STOCK "B", another core holding has produced a 18% move since being a DJIM buy alert. ..DJIM JOURNAL follow up.. "This smells like a possibility of a fast move and volatility, so if you want to the chance of a 3-4 5pt move, stop procrastinating if the signs are there.... Why not start with a starter like we did below $** and then add as you see the momo come"..
STOCK "C and D", Two stocks put on watch in our nightly Journal wrap last week and then alerted the next morning by 10am before huge moves... DJIM JOURNAL ..."incredible strength for the.... the past 3 days..7 to 9 points on each. The short term RSI is almost out of this world "
ALL THESE POTENTIAL MOVES and/ or BUYS of DJIM TRADERS are ALERTED BY EMAIL TO OUR READERS.
VOL,VOLT INFO SCI at $51, IPGP, IPGP Photonics Corp. at $25, NWK, Network Equipment Technolgies Inc, at $6.80
What has DJIM been up to so far in 2007?. Same as 2006, we are rolling along!. Here are some of the plays recently enjoyed by members, but it is not all!. Of course, many new plays happening are for our members eyes only. Our FORUM is kicking with participation from other traders giving heads up to potential moves intraday...Our ALERTS/Updates are cranking, our nightly CHART analysis updates on closely followed DJIM stocks are giving our readers another way to look at a potential trade, entry and/or exit for the next day and beyond.
DJIM ALERTS, VOL- ''....Trading a little VOL here'....' was part of an alert 3 pack inc. AAPL to DJIM members at $51. STOCK RUNS to 64 by 3rd day!
Put this on your watch for a potential trade, raised revenue guidance for this Q and year Friday. Its a tech with about 70%instit. but has a nice chart. 6.80's Journal NWK was one that had what many like. First, it quietly pre-announced a very good Q revenue based and upped the years growth to 17-20% from 10%. Well, we know what we would do if this was a EPS report, we'd jump on it if it included a similar EPS growth prospect. We also know these don't last a day, so we thought a second day follow through might happen and it did very nicely on what looks like a volume high day. Everybody likes a stock under $10, this was the other factor in thinking this had more space to run. These stocks are not what we look for in a long term DJIM relationship, it's simply a date and one you got lucky on!
NVX climbed to $7.50's as a short term trade idea, those that have held beyond, $7.80's has been in the cards and another 10%+ trade.

DJIM crew
...Triple play!
Just your typical DJIM triple play;)... ..What was the question today about a 3rd wave in chat?. Well, we really don't know what it is either and are thankful we have BT to kick it up in picturesh what we feel... A 3rd wave seems to be wax up your 'board Bodhi...we've got a killer big wave to ride on DJIM's 3rd FFHL alert.lol Today was pure adding on STRENGTH all day, if you see 'it' forming in the HMIN, FFHL, GROW's stocks...you should be attacking it!!!. This is all we were doing today literally, we are oblivious to the market outside of our DJIM index. Some of you must think we are nuts adding late in the day on stocks that are up 5% already like yesterday with GROW, lesser extend HMIN...but you know what!..Don't knock till you try it!..
Anyways last night, we highlighted GROW and wanting to go 3 for 3 on the last 3 buy calls...$67's to todays $72+ is a damn good start!. There will be some hiccups along the way, but we definitely still think this baby has lots left in her.
HMIN......"No...but we did stay at a HMIN express last night"...we must've cause our dreams of HMIN being discovered were answered at the bell from last nights Journal. Actually....last night was hardly the first time we were lovin' HMIM. We truly think this must wear the DJIM China championship belt for a while..MR EDU can rest. Speaking of ...
MR...we think it might be ready to resume and we started adding back today.
FFHL..what can you say?.. Here come the $20, 30, 50 dollar projections..lol. The worst part is we aint getting a day off in 2006, we thought maybe tomorrow we could sleep in on the last trading day....but ...nooooo ...this thing will be busy premarket but we have sold some AH....call us crazy after 4 points today..lol
You are always gonna get pullbacks , profit taking after nice runs and this will happen with these, but if you believe in your stock and its story you should be accumulating some for the next bump up.....
FSYS is a good example today of maybe picking some up you might've missed yesterday. Very nice day for it!. Sometimes the profit taking will will happen the next day as early today with FSYS, sometimes the same day as you all saw recently with FFHL.
Hopefully the last 2 weeks went to plan, the premise here was ADD to your gains of 2006 and not risk it foolishly...We think we've provided what we promised to look for...hopefully your accounts show it.
We're sorry we haven't got back to those requesting email of the doings on DJIM. We will have an update on this and more on DJIM 2007 tonight.
Holiday Trading....
A few things traders know about holiday trading are that volume can be low, trading can be thin, and stocks can be pushed around without too much effort. Still, we still feel that it's our responsibility to spot those trading opportunities and especially those with a clear setup. Since we are not big enough to push around any stocks, the only thing we can do is to spot signs of an early push and get in before the mass discovers them. Here are some notable ones for today...
FSYS, you kind of get a feel of "it's just a matter of time" before it gets pushed higher. We reviewed the breakout last week, the similarities to Novembers push from a range and alerted everyone today about the follow through early..just at over $21. What a follow through it did and it came off super strong volume. This one is looking more and more interesting to us and the highs are near.
GROW, momentum just won't die in this one. Did people think that this one will follow IAAC's steps? Maybe eventually! But as of the close tonight, it's ready to challenge its old high and beyond. We've hit the last 2 rushes, hope this is number 3.
Last night we said we were looking for follow through on the Chinese and Russian stocks. In DJIM land, the Russian telcos are GLDN ROS MBT VIP. The latter two started this run, the other two have taken over the run. GLDN ROS both here at $38, now sit nicely at 46-47 levels, each up over 20% since put on DJIM. The big boys reversed big time, especially MBT which just closed off a NCH. The downtrend was broken early on today for VIP/MBT.
The Asia-Pacific DJIM stocks have been MR, EDU, HMIN and JST. We've had enough runs with MR/EDU for the time being but that could change tomorrow..lol...We just think it is HMIN that still needs some discovering and might have further to go in the short term. We also like its chart best.
To really feel the holiday trading...we are trading ALXA(10.83), HLYS(32.35), EFUT(37's) more on the speculative side of the books. Of course, the EFUT rumor is probably just the usual holiday games being played...but still a break of the downtrend can possibly create some more points to the upside in EFUT and HLYS...just look at MBT today. Keep an eye out for recent DJIM names like ABM, OEH, POWL that are approaching recent highs intraday.. here and there. We just had GLDN tack on a couple of points and the FSYS pop off what are alerts approaching important highs.
Lets talk about FFHL tonight...
Obviously, FFHL is an attention grabber today and there's no doubt that many of us are involved trading them. So what we gonna do tonight is have a question/answer type of format to hopefully address most of the question concerning the FFHL play today, to the best of our knowledge. So here we go...
so what happened to the stock during the last 30 min.? - Do we really need an explanation on that? The simple fact is, it was dumped!
So how did FFHL close today? - For a momentum stock, it closed pretty crappy. As a matter of fact, it looked pretty ugly near the end.
Is this kind of action common for this type of play? - Yes, it's very common for this type of play. You have to get used to it and know what you are dealing with and therefore set the trading strategy accordingly.
So why did FFHL go up at first place? - Well, we think it's a combination of this co. being a recent Chinese IPO and low float that got picked up by many momentum traders, including us.
Does this run-up have anything to do with the fundamental of the co.? - Nope, absolutely not. The same kind of traders who trade these are the ones who would also trade EFUT, MAMA, etc. This kind of a play is about as speculative as it gets. This one is probably on many trading forums' agenda today.
How does the volume look today? - We thought it looked pretty toppy. Twice the float has been churned and stock closed way down from the opening price. Typically this is not a good sign, even though the stock is still not that far from its IPO price.
Does it mean that FFHL's run is over? - We don't know! At this point, probably not. We think the easy money should've been made already. Then again, stock behaviour often surprises the most seasoned traders.
How does DJIM approach this play at this point? - well, the bottom line is that we started playing at $10, and so should many of you. we've locked some big gains today and will watch this one closely for any further development. As always, we'd let others take the risk and battle it out while we just wait for the easy and obvious setups to come up. We are looking for a break of $14.80 for a flip and over $15.75 for some serious momentum.
The conclusion, Don't get Greedy! The fact that you found them at 10 bucks here should not keep you from being trapped in this play, ever! Imagine yourself finding this play out just today at $15? Also, FFHL, like EFUT ESCL.... are not typical DJIM bread and butter play. We play them because the opportunities are there but we do let readers know the RISK involved in trading them. These are super speculative plays and momentum works both way and the stock can reverse on any day at anytime. This definitely requires, in our opinion, a full time traders' attention to trade them successfully. This is the reason why we also don't give out sell alerts on these as things just happen too fast. But since we do give out our buy alerts early enough, there's no reason even for a rookie to make a buck or two out of these wild plays.
Ok, tomorrow is gonna be another day and hopefully it won't be a dull day. We are keeping our eyes on many familiar Asian and Russian plays to see any sign of further follow through.
cheers,
DJIM hold/ hit List #19
In most cases, stocks have continued retreating during the second last week of the year. This is understandable given the kind of market we've been through. For many people who are making their year end tax moves, the last couple weeks of the year is the time to get it done. Both of the profit and losses needed to be realized and both will have to come in a way of selling. So, a pullback in the indices may be the indication that people are just doing that. We at DJIM here are doing just exactly that, taking a breath from this market and resting ourselves up for what could be a busy earning season. Yup, earning season is almost upon us again and the coming quarter is considered to be typically the second strongest quarter of the year.
One thing we feel that we have to point out to our readers is that we DO NOT hold through earnings with our DJIM stocks. Most of our plays are considered IBD type of earning momentum plays and the one very thing that can break them is THE earning. During the past week, we've seen it with IAAC and MIKR. So what happened if you get caught holding through, whether intentionally or accidentally, we think the best thing to do is to just move on. There are just gonna be tons of new plays on the horizon and there's absolutely no reason to hold onto a broken pipe. How about playing for a bounce, or 50 ema bounce, as some of you may ask? We think it's better to leave the leftovers to those who actually enjoy them. For us, playing with the best setups, and playing with the current plays are the only things that matter and from which we get the biggest rewards on. As you can see, we have no problem coming up with new and exciting plays every week and even every day in a good market. Our mentality and our approach to this market has always been that we let the plays "come to us" and the nature of this market is such that there'll always be new plays coming to us. We just have to be there to catch them, early. So digging up old beat-up plays, leftover plays, and other "left for dead" kind of plays, are not worth our time, effort and capital. This is the very reason that got us to this point and why this site exists.
In the past week, we had some wild action from ESCL and some steady action from OPTM, FSYS, ZOLL, GLDN, POWL, ROS.... Even though some of those gains did not hold till the end of the week, it's just down right silly not to take advantage of some of the intraday gains. Think about where you have started trading them and where they had been during the week and how long it took for those gains to realize. To cap the week off, we had a super strong close off a Chinese IPO FFHL and our second timely alert on it. Most of us are probably excited to be back tomorrow just to trade FFHL. In any case, FFHL may be the focal point for many traders for this shortened trading week.
DJIM '06 Review- Honor roll
Well...late August 2006 to now...........Let's not forget who really made this all possible...the co's!
Below are the DJIM plays and the links that initiated coverage from late August. Some were recently initiated on DJIM alerts and these are the nightly follow up links to those stocks. For a complete history, visit the Archive link and DJIM Alerts (last 30 days). The benchmark we strive for at DJIM is the 25 plus % move after starting coverage. Over 20 of these benchmark moves are logo stamped below. Many have been 50%-100% moves. Some are runners that last a day or two, some have taken a month or two to reach our benchmark goal and some continue to produce in the DJIM recycling program. Whatever your style of investing, trading...there has been a stock(s) for you.
Merry Christmas...
to everyone and especially those who have stuck with us for the last couple of years. Hopefully, this will be home for us for a long time to come. This is actually the fourth "green" christmas for us since we got together from the swamp days. Hope all the DJIM readers enjoy their holidays as much as we do.
FFHL, this one is a definite stunner to cap off the day. Alert was sent out in the afternoon as we thought this one may have a chance to close high. What we weren't sure is that it would actually take out the old high and also close at the day high as it did. It sure looks good for Tuesday.
This whole week has been the "easy money" week. There are plays out there that we didn't need to care about their biz and stories, as long as the action point to the same conclusion.
cheers,
..Spinning
..and getting nowhere!...Selling remains the order of the day on the indices as we close off the week. Despite the Nasdaq now closing on a weeks low, DJIM closely followed are holding up quite well. Unfortunately, any further breaks are stopped in their tracks by the bigger picture. If we do get a late bump up, these might be the first place to look for an extension of their highs.
OPTM is one the best acting out there and finished with another NCH after testing $27. Not a bad run from the recent alert buy at $23. We 're still adding along the day.
GLDN has been doing some xmas shopping this week and looks poised to move on. A little volume and we could see new highs again. It's slower cousin, ROS made another NCH and big bidder is still lurking around slowly walking it up.
ZOLL made another NCH and continues to slowly creep higher. It to just needs volume , but thats a hard thing to find in holiday trading.
FSYS picked up on yesterday late day spurt with more volume today. Maybe this base it broke out of yesterday is similar to the one it broke out of in early November. This one has a way of disappointing, so we're cautious here.
OEH flat lined on nice volume after its big day, FFHL is turning over the inventory, you're in it to trade it. Having WBHambrecht at the IPO helm should provide a trade here. They of the pump FNET circuit can get this in play.
RIMM, want to see the analysts price targets go up tomorrow..lol....before buying this back at the high 140's.
One last good day is not too much to ask for tomorrow, is it?. You can't live on the ESCL daily.. that sort of trading stuff wipes, drains you out !
....Crazy Genes...
..We didn't ask for much this week...or did we?.....We just wanted to keep our 2006 gains in check and give us and you a XMAS bonus without risking much at all.....1000 shares of ESCL yesterday at say $7 & and change on the break of alert, fetched you maybe 8k, 9k, 10k,11k,12..maybe 13K back in less than a day of trading. You know we are not of the speculative lot here at DJIM, we don't throw spec stocks out randomly or give a stock a headline like last night for no reason. It's not our game to risk our money or get you to risk yours... Going into this week, we said what we were looking for as DJIM stocks came off their highs ...we weren't about to start buying the dips and instead wanted to concentrate on some holiday shopping with a good return policy. We would've been happy with $10..11 as we were happy with some $9 the day before on ESCL, but the difference is we didn't calculate its holiday trading week (even if that was the premise heading into the week) and ESCL could even do more than last time!. Most the day was occupied with this baby...momentum is momentum...slice it any which way...volume, exuberance equals momentum and this one definitely had the crazy genes in it to replicate its May run. Turned out not to matter if you bought yesterday at $7's..8's or if you had started to play it today...either way...you should be ho' ho..tonight. Traders can decipher momentum easily, starters can just as easily...it's all about volume!. If you're a rookie, you're not at such a disadvantage...volume is volume...all can read that!. If you want a short term trade, 20-40k ain't going to cut it like in EVST.
The bias has been SHORT TERM trading this week. If a FFHL goes from $10 to $12 after alert in 1hr of regular trading, we are happy for those that closed 20%+, but we are not so happy to hear one DJIM reader closed on another.. but that's the game of trading, folks. If you believe enough to buy a stock at $12 from a IPO price of $8 ......be ready to suck it up if it turns against you for a bit. You're playing the game, so be prepared. Still a day doesn't make a stock, up or down the day after the IPO.
Kinda happy for all those that have held onto FSYS, a good stock that just isn't discovered. Today was a little redemption...
RVBD fought back because of TW comments premarket, still the NASDAQ needs to WAKE UP before we get excited about DJIM techs again. Hey Cramer only brought GMKT a little further than we did..no biggie, we were there first.....POWL has kissed $33+ from our 28, OPTM hanging in with a mildl NCH as well.
Still beyond the plays and the playas'...OEH was a nice pick up this morning for DJIM. We've been watching for a few days and bought early today off yesterdays NCH. If we didn't think there was more potential at $45.50's, we wouldn't have mentioned it...make a long story short...1.2mln after 60k volume alert and a high of 47.82 on the day. First million plus volume day probably in a year for OEH (200k yesterday), not the first record volume day for a stock after a DJIM mention without news.
Charts updated include: FSYS OEH OPTM POWL REXI and ESLC for the remaining nutbars left in it;)
